Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to visit.   I am a perfectionist by nature and in some areas of my life, that is a detriment. But when it comes to my handcrafted work, it is a MUST. Everything I make is created with love, care, joy and great attention to detail. I love what I do!

100_7270Here’s me in a nutshell:

I have been happily married since September, 1983 (we got married on my birthday).  We have lived in various parts of the country between Vermont and Colorado .

Evan, Ryan and Dusty Blog PhotoOur three grown sons live on their own and drift in and out of the house on a regular basis.   Our boys have brought the most fun, love, pride, stress, and joy to our lives.

Our two doggies, were rescues and we love them to death.

My interests include photography, digital scrapbooking, reading, good movies, kayaking, and  interior decorating.  Hubby and I are looking forward to taking up cross country skiing this winter.

I also  have a business that produces DVD slideshows for special events.  I love to cook for a crowd, especially our theme dinner parties.

My hubby – the greatest guy I’ve ever met who supports every endeavor I choose to take on. Howie

My shop name, Albina Rose™,  is my maternal grandmother’s name.   She was born in 1895 and passed away at the age of 93 in 1988.   She started it all for me, when she taught me to crochet at age 9.   Then her daughter, my Mom, a seamstress, taught me to sew at age 11.   I made all of my own clothes until I was about 33 years old.   My mother made all three of her girls’ wedding dresses and even my brother’s wife’s.   She is still sewing clothes for her youngest grandchildren and now her first great grandchild.Anita and Albina

My dad is a master carpenter and as a little girl, I spent alot of time in his workshop as his gopher and anything else I could do to help.   He built our family cottage on the St. Lawrence River in Quebec.  Papa--Hayride 1992--rustic He built the house my parents currently live in.   And at age 76 he is working on his third woodstrip canoe.   His next project is a woodstrip kayak for me. We were actually able to trace his first ancestor on my grandmother’s side to St. Milo, France.   His name was Olivier Quesnel and he was a master armorer who left France to come to Montreal, Quebec in the mid-1600s.   The love of creating and working with my hands is in my blood.

I am self-taught in all other mediums I’ve ventured into and while jewelry making is my main interest, the variety of arts I work in, betrays my love for all things handmade.
